Dental Implants are one of the best permanent options for replacing/restoring a missing tooth or several missing teeth.
Why Get Dental Implants
Implants are great alternatives to bridges, partials or dentures. Implants can feel more like your natural teeth and function like them better than traditional dentures, bridges, or partials. Implants will give you confidence like none you have had before with the other alternatives.
Dental implants cost can vary widely depending on the specific patients (individualized care) situation.
What is the Procedure?
At Mai Dentistry, we plan to do a full comprehensive evaluation of your mouth to determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants.
Some first steps to determine this:
- Going over medical history (medications, past dental treatment)
- Taking full mouth series radiographs and/or CT images of the area that is looking to have a dental implant
We have state-of-the-art dental software that can provide tools to our dentists to plan the direct placement of the implant. In most cases, we take impressions of the area that will have the implant placed and send them out to our professional lab to fabricate, make, and prepare a splint device. During the guided implant placement surgery, the implant space will be prepared, and the titanium implant will be inserted into the bone.
After this, the implant will have a healing time of typically 3-6 months to integrate and fuse with the bone. In some cases, bone graft, tissue membrane, and ridge split procedures may be needed during the implant process. These are all things that will be discussed at your implant consult.
The next step would be to uncover the implant once it has fully healed and place the custom fabricated abutment and take an impression to send out to our lab to fabricate the crown, bridge, or denture.
